If you are a food lover, like myself, you have probably already had the depressing realization you've seen every episode and 2011 rerun of Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Cupcake Wars. But don't get upset yet, because I have found one of my new favorite addictions- Unique Sweets. Unique Sweets is a spin-off of the Cooking Channels show Unique Eats. They travel all around the country, letting viewers in on the most delicious, and of course unique, sweets. They currently just started airing the fifth season, and I know what your thinking- WHY AM I JUST HEARING ABOUT THIS AMAZING SHOW NOW! But don't worry, if you're anything like me, you will be caught up in a few short weeks. Disclaimer- DO NOT watch this show hungry, or at least have your kitchen stocked, because it will create a serious need for a slice of cake or a giant warm cookie. What is really awesome about this show is that each episode has a different "theme." Some episodes are about frozen treats, cookies, or pies, and other episodes are based on locations like NY, Austin, or Chicago. Also, well known Cooking Channel stars narrate the entire episode, and we also get to meet the owners and hear about their stories, which is my favorite part. I have actually started keeping a notebook of all the places I have watched that I NEED to visit (so basically all of them). My roommate has learned that when my blue notebook comes out, Unique Sweets is starting! Watching this show has opened my eyes to amazing places that I probably wouldn't have ever had the opportunity to hear about. Below are a few clips from some of my favorite episodes. Full episodes and clips are free (so you have no excuse) and available online, so you better get started because you have five seasons of catching up to do!
